I’m glad you’re here.
Your health is an extraordinary gift that you often take for granted until something goes wrong. You may feel exhausted, have put on weight without even realising, have some unexplained digestive symptoms or feel like you’ve lost your mojo. You’re in the right place.
When I left school, I wanted to be a naturopath but it was a bit of a ‘hippy’ thing back then. I opted for a career in the travel industry working for airlines in customer service and travelling the world on my time off. I worked in the travel and financial services industries for the next 20 years and worked my way through to management for a popular online travel insurance company.
After meeting my husband, we travelled to the UK together and I worked for a nutritionist who specialised in men’s health. That experience fired up my passion for nutrition and natural health. When we moved back to Sydney, I started my Bachelor of Health Science (Nutritional Medicine) at the age of 40. I juggled part-time study and work while raising our daughter and doing my degree. During that time, I had a number of health challenges and I felt like I was constantly adjusting to a ‘new normal’ that involved a lot of physical and emotional healing.
My approach to health is about…
The four circles in my logo represent the physical, psychological, social and spiritual influences in our lives and how they interact and influence our health and wellbeing.
What I’ve learned from my clients, my studies and my own life experience is that you can’t focus on one of these aspects without seeing how they all interact. Your heritage and cultural background strongly influence your food choices: you may have come from scarcity or abundance; or your family celebrates everything with food; or you may be feeding six people and it’s too hard to eat something different to the rest of the family. Stress and mental health is a powerful and underestimated force on our bodies and influences what we eat, how we eat and digest. Our faith and spiritual influence has an effect on what we eat and when, especially when observing religious occasions.
After my degree, I added sports performance to my services after a mentorship with Kira Sutherland, a renowned Sports Nutritionist, and Naturopath. This allows me to give advice to adults and teens about sports performance. This is a very confusing area of nutrition for many people as they don’t know how much protein or carbs to include and when. It’s important to get the right advice that is backed by science, and I can help you.
Metabolic health has always been an interest and I’m now a certified Metabolic Balance practitioner. I love seeing clients grow & glow after going through the program.
I’m a Wholefood cook who loves to experiment with fermented food, making rye sourdough bread and nourishing sweets. I eat a mostly plant-based diet and encourage anyone who wants to try it but I understand it’s not for everyone. My husband and daughter are committed meat eaters so I adapt recipes to suit. However, you can expect me to introduce you to some more veg in your diet, no matter what your preference!
I’m a co-Director of a property management business and see clients online from wherever they are. I live in Berowra with my husband, our teen daughter, our 3 dogs and cat.
I can’t wait to meet you and take you on a fabulous journey to help you feel better, look better and perform better.
